EFT -- Emotional Freedom Technique
What is EFT?
EFT is a new and exciting tool for healing. It has often been referred to as a form of
psychological acupressure, using gentle tapping instead of needles to stimulate traditional
Chinese acupuncture points.
The results are fast and often permanent. EFT can neutralize emotions such as fear, anger,
shame, guilt and sadness, thereby resolving issues that you may have been dealing with for many
years. This, in turn, allows the body and mind to resume their natural healing abilities.

What Can EFT Do?
Most people realize that when they are under intense stress, or dealing with extreme emotion, such
as after the loss of a loved one, their body doesn't seem to be able to fight off illness as well
as when their life is more peaceful.
EFT can allow you to deal with issues such as those in a
manner that gives you peace of mind, thereby allowing your body to function more normally,
and to resume its natural healing abilities. EFT can be used for phobias, weight loss, smoking,
stress, anxiety, cravings, negative memories, self image enhancement, nightmares, fear of flying,
fear of heights, claustrophobia, fear of public speaking, and much more.
Using EFT
In order to use EFT effectively, one must focus on the issue at hand, for example an ex spouse
that hurt you deeply. While focusing on one particular incident ("My ex cheated on me."), you
tap various acupressure points while repeating words provided by your EFT practitioner, or that
you have come up with yourself. After several rounds (tapping from

the top of your head down on
various points) you will be asked to focus on the specific issue again, and see how much intensity
you have regarding it. Often the intensity will have dropped, or even disappeared, after just a
round or two. If there is any remaining intensity, the EFT practitioner will repear the process.
Once you have completed the process outlined above, you will still retain the memory of the incident
that you worked on, but it will no longer be charged with negative emotion. The pain surrounding it
will be gone.
Can I Use EFT Myself?
Absolutely. You can download a free PDF version of the
EFT Manual from the website of Gary Craig, the creater of EFT.
While you're there, sign up for the EFT Insights Newsletter, which provides many fascinating examples of uses
and techniques with EFT. Learning the basics of EFT is simple, and you should pick it up quickly.
There are, however, times when you will want assistance from a trained EFT practitioner. You may have events
in your past that are so emotionally charged that you're afraid to approach them on your own. If you have a
history of abuse, you may find that you just feel safer having guidance and help in order to deal with that
history.
EFT Tapping Points

Following are the EFT tapping points that you will be using:
- Top of head
- Eyebrow
- Side of eye
- Under eye
- Under nose
- Chin
- Collar bone
- Under arm
- Karate chop
Before starting to tap, assess the problem at hand. On a scale of zero to ten,
with ten being the most intense and zero being no intensity at all, give a number to your level
of intensity.
Then, while focusing mentally on your stiff neck, you will tap various acupressure points
while repeating words provided by your EFT practitioner or that you have come up with yourself.
After several rounds (tapping from the top point to the bottom point) you will be asked to focus on the specific
issue again and see how much intensity you have regarding it. Often the intensity will have dropped, or
even disappeared after just a round or two. If there is any remaining intensity, the process is repeated.
